A graphic (dot-matrix) LCD draws anything — text in any font, waveforms, trend graphs, icons, a small UI — on a pixel canvas, without the tooling commitment of a custom segment glass. It is the middle path of monochrome displays, and HZY builds it in both constructions: thin COG modules with the driver on the glass, and panel-ready COB modules on a PCB.
The format ladder
| Format | Where it fits | Representative builds |
|---|---|---|
| 128×32 / 128×48 | Status strips, slim readouts | COG, ST7567 |
| 128×64 | The volume standard — instruments, meters | COG ST7567 / COB NT7107-class |
| 132×64 / 192×64 | Wider instruments, more text per line | COG ST7567 / ST7525 |
| 240×64 / 240×128 | Data tables, small UIs | RA6963 / ST7529A COG |
| 240×160 | Compact graphic UIs | FSTN COG, ST7586S |
| 320×240 | The top of the mono graphic range | RA8806 |
The catalogue's 28 graphic models are listed with model numbers, resolutions and controllers on the family pages — start at 128×64 modules if that is your format, or the COG index and COB index for the full verified range.
Picking a graphic module
Three decisions dominate: canvas size (how much must be shown at once), construction (COG for thin, COB for mounted), and glass (STN for standard, FSTN for contrast, DFSTN transflective for sunlight). Controller choice follows from the format — ST7567 owns the 128×64 COG space, RA-series parts drive the larger COB canvases — and your existing firmware may already have voted. The 128×64 buying guide works the most common case in detail.
Graphic modules are the natural upgrade path from character displays when a product outgrows fixed text, and the natural alternative to colour TFT when power, cost or sunlight rule colour out. All are 100% inspected and shipped with matched backlights.
